    Fava Beans

Fava beans, also known as broad beans, are a type of legume that grows in a large, long pod. It looks similar to a pea pod, but the pod opens to reveal a soft fuzzy bed covered with fava beans.

Fava beans are seasonal, typically available in the spring and early summer, and can be added to pasta, grains, or salads, or mashed into an appetizer spread for crostini or crackers.
