- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter for basting the muffin cups
- 3 cups Bisquick mix
- ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese I use mild cheddar cheese
- 6 ounce can French's Crispy Fried Onions
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
Preheat the oven to 400˚F and butter a muffin tin.
In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick, cheese, French Fried Onions, egg and buttermilk using a large metal spoon. The batter will be very sticky.
Completely fill the muffin cups using a spoon or cookie scoop. If you bake these biscuits as drop biscuits, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and use a cookie scoop to form evenly sized drop biscuits. Since the batter is sticky, lightly oil the cookie scoop first. This prevents the dough from sticking to the scoop.Bake for 10 - 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean and the biscuits are golden brown. The exact baking time will depend on the size of the muffin cups. I use a regular sized muffin tin.
