Non-Fat Peach Frozen Yogurt with Honey

This is a frozen yogurt dessert made with roasted peaches, non-fat yogurt, honey and optional spices. Roasting the peaches bring up the peach flavors beautifully!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 large freestone peaches * See the Ingredient Notes in the post
  • cup honey divided
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 35.3 ounce container non-fat vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  • Turn on the broiler and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the peaches in half, remove their pits, and peel them. Arrange the peach halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
    Drizzle a ½ teaspoon of the honey over each peach half, and sprinkle a little nutmeg and cinnamon on top.
    Slide the peaches under the broiler until they start to caramelize on top, about 3 minutes. Flip the peaches over and slide them back under the broiler for another minute. The peaches will be very soft and be lightly caramelized.
  • Place the entire container of vanilla Greek yogurt into the bowl of a food processor fitted with a blade or high speed blender. Add the roasted peaches, salt and remaining honey.
    Blitz the food processor or blender like crazy until the peaches are completely mixed into the yogurt.
    If you prefer some chunks of peaches in your frozen yogurt, add the third peach after the first two are completely mixed in and just pulse the processor a few times.
  • Transfer the peach yogurt mixture to a bowl and place in the freezer for 2 hours to completely chill.
  • Remove from the freezer and transfer the mixture to the bowl of an electric ice cream maker. Process according to the directions of your ice cream maker.
    Return to the freezer until ready to serve.
  • Before serving, let the frozen yogurt sit on the counter for 15 minutes to soften, if needed.
